What is E414?

Gum arabic is a tree gum exuded by two species of Acacia sensu lato: Senegalia senegal and Vachellia seyal. However, the term "gum arabic" does not indicate a particular botanical source. E414 sits in the E400–E499 series, which in the EU classification mainly covers thickeners, stabilisers and emulsifiers.
