What is E320?

Butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA) is a synthetic, waxy, solid petrochemical. Its antioxidant properties have caused it to be widely used as a preservative in food, food packaging, animal feed, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, rubber, and petroleum products. E320 sits in the E300–E399 series, which in the EU classification mainly covers antioxidants and acidity regulators.

What is E320 used for?
