What is E1520?

Propylene glycol (IUPAC name: propane-1,2-diol) is a viscous, colorless liquid. It is almost odorless and has a faintly sweet taste. E1520 sits in the E1000–E1599 series, which in the EU classification mainly covers other additives, incl. modified starches.
